This light grey wool jacket is my everything right now!!! I have worn it easily 4 times since purchasing it last week, and without fail each time I wore it somebody would stop and ask me where it was from. Well, the secret’s out… it is from Zara!

I wear heels on the daily but when it comes to sight seeing and shopping, comfort comes first for me! If you’re like me, when visiting a new city you want to see and do as much as you can. This means being comfortable is a must. When packing for any trip, I try to make sure that I have “sensible shoes” as B would say… the guy has a point, listening to me complain about sore feet the entire trip would be rather annoying.
If you’re following me on Instagram, then you know I was just recently in Las Vegas! Before I go on any trip, there are the obvious things I need to do like pack, make a sub plan (if I’m taking time away from work), fill my car with gas, and make sure my house is clean… I hate coming home to a messy house! There are also bonus things I like to squeeze in, like getting a spray tan! Whether I’m going somewhere hot to lay on a beach or traveling to Vegas for some shopping, it always feels great to have a little glow.
Upon returning from Vegas on Monday, I had many colleagues ask if I had been somewhere on a beach… score! My spray tan looked natural and had lasted!
Sundays are for sleeping in, lounging in your pj’s all day, and eating the best breakfast ever… pancakes! A good stack of pancakes on a Sunday morning can be the perfect start to your day. My favourite part of this recipe? It has regular milk instead of buttermilk…I NEVER have buttermilk on hand and going to the store on a Sunday morning is just out of the question.
If you haven’t noticed, winter whites is kind of a thing. I am totally on board with that trend however I prefer winter lights, if that’s a thing. Although I love the ‘all white everything’ look, it can be hard to pull off when you’re standing on a massive blanket of white snow… so this is my alternative for those who are living in the same winter wonderland conditions!
I am definitely not a pro traveller but I have been lucky enough to gain some experiences over the last few years. Through my trips here and there I have learned the items I don’t need to pack, and what is definitely worth lugging through the airport!
Nude, pink, or any natural Gelish (a brand of light cured polish) color is my absolute favourite. They go with everything and just look so dang pretty. They are however, HIGH MAINTENANCE!! If you get this color often then you know what I’m talking about… they stain like a mo fo! If you don’t take care of your light colored nails they can be stained and looking pretty nasty within a few days and the whole point of gelish is to not have to worry about your nails for at least two weeks… sigh* being a girl is so hard!
Well, the temperature today hovered around the minus 40 mark which meant it was one of those days where I did not leave the house. In fact, I didn’t even get dressed. I cleaned, watched some T.V, wrote, and made some soup! This DELICIOUS soup is comforting, easy, and you will most likely have all the ingredients in your pantry/fridge so you won’t have to leave your cozy home either!
A night out on the town in the winter is HARD (unless you live in California, Florida, or somewhere hot- if that’s the case I just can’t even…jealous emoticon) In fact, it’s so hard that my girlfriends and I rarely do it. It may have something to do with our age or that if we go out we’re dragging our butts for weeks after, but I prefer to blame it on the cold weather and pretend we are still 21.
A couple weeks ago I went to Edmonton to visit my sister and do some Christmas shopping. While I was there I had to visit one of my favourite stores, Aritzia. And of course I found a few treats for myself…. you know the old one for you, one for me deal. I picked up these pants and this crop top sweater. The crop top, specifically, has been a staple in my wardrobe ever since. I love that it can be easily worn with skirts (as seen here), these pants, or layered with a blouse to make it work appropriate.
