Instagram Story OOTD’s

I recently started sharing my daily #ootd’s with you all and I have had a great response! I often get DM’s throughout the day asking where certain things are from and because I snap the photo just as I’m running out the door I usually don’t have the link ready to go for you all. So, I thought I would do a weekly roundup of all these outfits with links for you to shop or simply get a little inspo! Now, sometimes the things I am wearing are no longer available so I will try my best to find things that are similar! I know this isn’t ideal but let’s face it I don’t have the budget to be wearing brand new clothes every day, haha!

One of my favourite parts of blogging is having the opportunity to be a small part of some pretty amazing things that are happening in this world. Most recently, I was approached by the brand Gentle Fawn to help spread the word about a campaign they are really passionate about. They are selling these absolutely gorgeous kimonos and 25% of the profits will go the Because I am a Girl fund.

Tortilla Soup

Well, it officially feels like fall. I say this every year but as selfish as it sounds, the second I’m back to work in September I’m ready for the cool weather. I mean seriously, if I’m going to be trapped in a building without A.C, I’m crossing my fingers for sweater weather… don’t hate me too much! Just think of the sweaters, denim, BOOTS, scarves, coats… ah, see?! When you think of it like that, fall really is the best season!

Back to School: First Day OOTD

Back to school… I freaking love the first day of school, honestly who doesn’t?! It never fails I wake up before my alarm with butterflies in my tummy. A bit of nerves mixed with the excitement of meeting my new class is a feeling I crave. September marks a fresh start. New students, new goals, new memories, and of course, new grey hairs… have I mentioned I have TWENTY BOYS this year! LOL!! This is seriously cheesy but how lucky am I to have found a career I truly love?! Don’t get me wrong there are definietely days I feel frustrated with the profession just like anyone does, but those days are outnumbered by the days I feel lucky to have this career.

TTT: DIY Teacher Day Book

Last week as I was preparing to go back to school I hit up the teacher store to grab only the necessities-birthday cards and birthday badge stickers. While being in there it had me thinking about all the money I (well, more like my parents) spent as a new teacher on things I just didn’t need. Honestly- I know you have the urge to buy everything and anything you can get your hands on and that your bank account will let you, but just don’t. First, you can’t afford it. Okay, I don’t know that. Maybe you have a trust fund you’re living off of, but if you’re anything like me or 99% of teachers, you won’t. Second, you just don’t know exactly what you need… buy and make things as you go! It will save you so much money and storage in the long run. Learn from my mistakes!! I seriously went crazzyyyy the second I walked across the stage and got that fancy little scroll. NOT NECESSARY!!!

So long Summer!

Well my friends, today is officially the last day of summer vacation for this gal! I’m feeling excited, a little sad, but mostly I cannot get over how time flies- seriously!! A quick blink and the summer has come and gone. Although it flew by in record time, there was no shortage of adventure! From the little things like finishing our backyard and planting a garden, to camping, and going on a roadtrip across B.C! We really did jam pack this summer trying to fill every day with some kind of adventure!
