Plaid is one of the hottest trends this fall/winter so finding the perfect one was at the top of my bucket list! I found this one last week and I can’t take it off! This plaid shirt is sooooo soft, fits like a glove, and is the perfect color for the holidays. Tie it around your waste (so trendy right now), button it up, or leave it open! This piece is versatile, cozy, and so cute- well worth the investment!
We all know the importance of having a LBD (little black dress) in our wardrobe. Classic, practical and oh so versatile. I grabbed this one two seasons ago from Cade Style Lounge and it has saved me on more occasions that I can count. Christmas parties, GNO’s, wedding… this little ditty has seen it all!
Well, it’s official Christmas is exactly ONE MONTH away… I actually can’t believe it! Maybe it’s the lack of snow and the cold weather that makes it seem so far away, I’m not sure but one month is seriously not that long! I have been on the hunt for a good leather (pleather) skirt forever! I finally found this Free People one last weekend and I am obsessed!! It fits perfectly… not too tight or short, and flares out just a touch making it super flattering. It was a little expensive, so like always I sat in the change room and racked my brain to make sure I could come up with at least four different looks before I made my way to the till – success!
A few weekends ago I went to a wedding in Raymore, my hometown. Brandon was in charge of the photos for the day and I was acting as his assistant. Although it was fun to be on the other side of the camera for a change I did manage to squeeze a two second what I wore photo opp in while the bridal party warmed up in the limo.
This past summer I traveled to Vancouver to watch my Heather (my sister) run the Lululemon Seawheeze half marathon. A super last minute trip that turned out to be seriously awesome. A girls weekend in Vancouver, what’s not to love?! The highlight of the trip was definitely watching Heather and her friend cross the finish line- I must admit I felt a little left out. SO in the heat of the moment I made a verbal commitment to run with them next year. A few weeks later when registration opened she was sure to hold me to that commitment.
As many of you know I attended Christmas in October last month and had a blast! The vibe in the quaint little city was just beautiful- the holiday music, cookies and milk, and of course the stunning holiday decor!! This event has been happening for 25 years I can’t believe this year was my first- a new tradition for my mom and I!
If you have been following me for a while you would know that I do Monthly Must-Haves, you would also know that I didn’t do one last month… whoops! Well, actually it was intentional. To be honest I didn’t do one because I really hadn’t discovered anything new or must-have worthy! This month I am doing something a little different as well- I decided to just review my favorite beauty treats- I have been getting e-mails and texts from people asking me what products I use and so I thought I would swap another edition of my must haves for this post- I hope you like it!
The blanket scarf… ah, such a typical fall must-have but for good reason. I have heard people poke fun of the trend calling those wrapped up in their leather coats and blanket scarves “Aritzia Blanket Scarf Zombies”. I have to chuckle… I am a self proclaimed Aritzia Blanket Scarf Zombie. I love them and I’m not afraid to admit it. I love how cozy they are, how you can wear them as a giant scarf or as a poncho/cape, I love that they keep my face warm during recess supervision, and I love that they add that little bit of dimension to any outfit. I typically wear mine folded in half to make a triangle and then wrapped around my neck however, lately I have been wearing it as a poncho and I am loving it.
