Wide Leg Trousers

I have a problem purging things. Perhaps it’s teacher voice in me always whispering “Keep it! You could use that for math counters, or a Mother’s Day craft, or Valentine’s Day, or a sorting activity!” Let’s be clear, I’m not a hoarder but boarder line am… most teachers out there are, especially primary teachers. Most times this is annoying (ask B) as I have stuff everywhere, but… a few weeks ago I was going through my clothes and found these trousers from 8 years ago!!!! Honestly, I cannot believe I didn’t throw them out but I am SO happy I didn’t because I have seen them popping up here and there over the last little bit. Like I mentioned these are about 8 years old so they are no longer available but I will be sure to link so similar ones down below!

Anytime I head towards a bigger centre, shockingly, shopping is a must! Although I love discovering local boutiques, there is also a list of non negotiable stores I must visit before leaving. Aritzia, Zara, Forever 21, Club Monaco, and Topshop to name a few! I almost always find a few key pieces that I feel are necessities for my wardrobe.

What I Wore: Weekend Edition

I had this past week off…oh the glory of being a teacher! Typically Brandon and I take advantage of my time off and head towards a beach, but this time we decided to stick around. Well, more like B had work commitments he couldn’t move so I dealt with it… it actually ended up being not as bad as I anticipated. I got caught up on work, cleaned, baked, cooked, went for lunch with my babes, wrote, took some photos, and binged on Netflix… No beach vacay, but still felt amazing to turn my brain off from teaching and totally relax!

One of my favourite past times is reading blogs (shocker) and getting inspired to create new looks with my existing closet. I love pairing old pieces in new ways to create an unexpected outfit… I love looking in the mirror and shocking myself. That is exactly what happened with this outfit!

Four Booties Every Girl Needs In Their Closet

You may be wondering why I’m talking about booties after talking about starting to incorporate spring elements into my looks in my last post. Well, now is the perfect time to start thinking about next winter… I know, I know, we haven’t even made it through this winter! But seriously, everything is on sale… you’d be crazy not to take advantage of it! Buying out of season is an age old trick that is perfect for people on a budget or people who just like to be responsible with their money and get the best bang for their buck.

A Feminine Touch

Maybe it’s Valentine’s Day, or the fact that spring is around the corner, but I’m really into incorporating feminine touches, and bits of color into my wardrobe lately. I love this scarf because it adds that little bit of color, but can still be considered a part of the neutral family. The feathers, beads and the knot, add a unique element to any outfit!

What I Wore: Teacher Edition Pt. 3

I often get e-mails/comments from new and current teachers asking me for style advice for the classroom. My reply is almost always the same…. try not to shop specifically for “teacher clothes”. Instead, look for pieces that can be worn in and out of the classroom! A great example is this crop top sweater. I love wearing this outside of work with a high waisted skirt or boyfriend jeans. To create a “work appropriate” outfit, I add a blouse under the crop and style it with a pair of black skinnies or dress pants. To finish it off I pair it with a great shoe… pack flats if you choose a heel like these 😉

Valentines Day Date Night

Is it me or does it literally feel like we just finished Christmas shopping?! Maybe that’s why I never seem to be in the mood for gifts when it comes to Valentine’s Day. Don’t get me wrong I think it’s cute to exchange presents, but most of the time I am running around last minute trying to find that perfect gift that he really doesn’t need. So, to save ourselves the stress of finding “the perfect gift” for each other we try to do something fun together. Sometimes it’s something new, sometimes it’s not, but regardless it is something we have fun doing.

Saskatchewan Fashion Week GNO

I thought I would share some exciting new with you all… I have been asked to be a part of the Saskatchewan Fashion Week‘s blog! Here is the first of four posts I will be doing for them as a guest blogger on their site! Feel free to follow along as myself and three other talented bloggers contribute to their page!

There are few things I enjoy more than spending time with my girlfriends, and when your bestie happens to be your sister, it doesn’t get much better. A GNO can cure a awful day at work, a boyfriend/ husband who thinks there is a monster in the dishwasher, a bad hair day, or even the most horrendous breakup. If the above doesn’t apply to you, a night out can also serve as a reminder of how awesome your girlfriends are.
