LOCAL LOVE: Jenny Joans

Jenny Joans the actual Bricks and Mortar Boutique is in Estevan, Saskatchewan, and was founded by Jenny Pettitt 25 years ago! If you are ever in the area I highly suggest you drop everything you’re doing to check it out, you won’t be disappointed. If you’re not, don’t stress, their online store is always updated and I may even have a discount code to make it that much sweeter! As you scroll the pages of their online store, it’s clear they are passionate about serving up-to-the-minute apparel, shoes, accessories, and other giftware. The Not-So-Plain-Jane- T shirt dress: Dresses are just my favourite but t-shirt dresses are my absolute favourite- they’re SO comfortable and they just make me feel good. This t-shirt dress is definitely going to be my new go-to. I LOVE the sleeve detail! Wear this with sandals in the fall or with these Blundstone boots and a cardigan when the temps start to drop this Fall! Although this dress looks like it’s made out of denim, it’s not. Instead it is made out of a soft and cozy t shirt material and given a vintage wash #amazeballs
Let’s take a minute to zoom in on these boots. Blundstones… how I have lived in Saskatchewan for 31 years without them is a mystery to me. They’ve been on my list for a long time and for some reason I’ve never owned them. Well, they’re mine now and you best be getting used to seeing them because I’m gonna be LIVING in them this winter. They are so comfortable, have amazing grip, (yes, you read that right… I’m commenting on the grip of my boot now #thisis31) and they’re cute. I’m curious to see how warm they are… I’ll let you know when the -30 something weather hits, but let’s not even think about that just yet.
The Kelly Kapowski Biker Shorts – I’m not going to lie, it took me a while to get on the biker short band wagon but now that I’m on it, I won’t be getting off anytime soon. I legit feel like Kelly Kapowski when I slide into them… and really, need I say more? Who doesn’t want to feel like KK?! I’ve purchased a few pairs of these over the past few months and these take the cake. They’re super soft and most importantly, they’re SUPER high waisted… like I’m talking they almost touch my bra and I’m not mad about it.
The Goes-With-Everything-Bodysuit: is it just me or does anyone else find it super hard to find the right shirt to wear with skirts and overalls? They have to be just the right fit and otherwise they just look ridiculous. This bodysuit legit will go with everything: jeans and a leather, this skirt, paper bag waist pants, or under overalls. The colour is perfect for Fall and the buttons add just the right amount of detail!
The Cutest Corduroy Dress, EVER– While Kammy and I were in Europe we did a bit of shopping and one trend we noticed for Fall was corduroy and sure enough, here we are! The perfect dress to transition to Autumn- yes, it’s corduroy but don’t worry it’s not too thick and won’t be too hot for the warm days we often get in September. Again, I wasn’t sure how I felt about this trend but this dress has fully convinced me.
