My Favourite Podcasts
Podcasts are SO popular it feels like everyone and their dog has one these days. I suppose this is great because you have lots to choose from, but it can also be a bit overwhelming if you’re new to the scene. From self help and business advice to celebrity gossip and comedy, there really is something for everyone. I’ve been into podcasts for a while (see old post here) but I really got into them when I went through my breakup and lived alone for the first time as an adult. Living alone can be super lonely and when I listen to podcasts I feel like I am hanging with friends… sometimes I even talk back LOL k, that’s embarrassing. Anyways, before I embarrass myself even more, let’s get on with the list:
1.) Couples Therapy with Candice and Casey – I am a HUGE Casey Neistat fan. He is by far my favourite YouTuber. He is legit as hell and is seriously inspiring. Although the title Couple’s Therapy makes it sound like it’s a podcast strictly about relationships it really isn’t ALL about their relationship. Yes, a big part of it is, which is super interesting, but they also talk about friendships, parenting, and living in the YouTube spotlight. The only downfall to this podcast is they don’t upload consistently… they just had their second baby though, so let’s give them a break!
2.) Goal Digger by Jenna Kutcher- This is a live-workshop style business podcast focussing on women entrepreneurs. I love this podcast in particular because you really never know what you’re going to get but one thing is for sure, it’s going to be good. It almost always leaves me feeling inspired or like I’ve learned something. With episodes ranging from how to build and Instagram following to what it’s really like to own an Airbnb, I highly recommend it to anyone but especially boss babes!
3.) S Town– This podcast is very different than all the others on this list but I LOVED it. It was recommended to me by a friend and for good reason. Because it is hard to explain, I am just going to put the description, taken exactly from the website for you here:
S-Town is a new podcast from Serial and This American Life, hosted by Brian Reed, about a man named John who despises his Alabama town and decides to do something about it. He asks Brian to investigate the son of a wealthy family who’s allegedly been bragging that he got away with murder. But then someone else ends up dead, and the search for the truth leads to a nasty feud, a hunt for hidden treasure, and an unearthing of the mysteries of one man’s life.
Give it a listen… I promise you’ll like it!
4.) The GaryVee Audio Experience– Need a kick in the butt, light your fire, get up and do something kind of podcast? This is it! My particular favourite series of his is the #podSessions. In these podcasts he brings together guests from all different walk of life to discuss a variety of topics such as tech, entrepreneurship, media, and culture.
5.) The Morning Toast– Last but definitely NOT least. My lord I am obsessed with this podcast. I am a full on toaster and I am not afraid to admit it. It is a millennial morning show focussed on pop culture. I don’t watch a lot of tv or read magazines so the toast keeps me in the loop with all things celebrity or pop culture related. The sisters are HILARIOUS and have me LOL’ing as I do my makeup every morning!
A few others that I tune into from time to time include:
-The Lady Gang
– Off The Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe
-The Daily
-She Makes Magic -they no longer make new episode
Rhonda
If you like true crime try My Favorite Murder. Very very good.
