Flared jeans. Ahh, I have been bucking this “new trend” for some time but I have finally decided to give it a go. I put new trend in quotations because as you all know it’s really not new. In fact, I feel like it’s too soon for them to be back… Maybe that’s me aging quicker than I’d like but I swear we just got over them.
I’ve said it before but I’m going to say it again. The blanket scarf or any over-sized scarf needs to be a staple in your fall/winter wardrobe. They truly are the perfect accessory. Not only do they give your outfit that little extra detail, they also serve an important purpose here on the prairies where the weather dips to those frigid temperatures that take your breath away the moment you step outside. Ah!!! Okay I’m getting ahead of myself, it’s barely even fall but seriously people… it’s coming.

Although Labor day acts as the unofficial last weekend of summer it isn’t… August 22nd officially marks the end of the sunshine season and the beginning of fall. The cape trend is something I am seriously loving this fall. It’s the perfect piece to layer for the unpredictable fall weather. This Jackson Rowe treat has been my everything lately, layering it with dresses or a super casual t-shirt and jean look. Sometimes when I sit back and think about our travels through Europe it’s hard to believe I wasn’t dreaming. I know that sounds super cheesy but it couldn’t be more true. With school back in session, I have had some requests to show some of my “teacher clothes” or what I wear to work. Truthfully, I don’t shop specifically for teacher clothes, I typically just style things a little differently to make it work appropriate. I have been on the hunt for the perfect pair of overalls, preferably denim. I have yet to come across them but during my hunt I did happen to find these uber adorable trouser overalls! Who knew such a thing even existed?! I stumbled across them at forever 21 on our road trip last month. I didn’t think much of them when I looked at them on the hanger but thought I would try them on anyways. Boy was I shocked when I put them on…so cute, fit like a glove and under $35.00! Don’t you just love when that happens?!
Eeeek!! My favorite month, September!!! The air turns crisp in the morning and evenings but is the perfect temperature during the day. The leaves turn all sorts of colors, back to school, layering, scarves, boots, pumpkin spice everything. I mean honestly, September is the bomb.com
