Work & Play || One Layer Away
A couple weeks ago I went to Edmonton to visit my sister and do some Christmas shopping. While I was there I had to visit one of my favourite stores, Aritzia. And of course I found a few treats for myself…. you know the old one for you, one for me deal. I picked up these pants and this crop top sweater. The crop top, specifically, has been a staple in my wardrobe ever since. I love that it can be easily worn with skirts (as seen here), these pants, or layered with a blouse to make it work appropriate.
Check out how I have transitioned this outfit from day to night by simply adding a blouse under the crop top.
The transition from work to play can literally be one layer away… (typically I would wear a white tank under the blouse but I forgot for the shoot- whoops!)
I have been really crushing my New Year wardrobe resolution of buying basics like this crop. How are your resolutions going?! Also, I have been trying to wear my hair straight more often… I’m not sure how I feel about it, thoughts?
*Update: See the cute bracelets I am wearing?! Those were given to me by one of my very sweet students! At the time, I tried to ask him where they were from but he couldn’t remember. His mom has since let me know that they are from Color By Amber! I love the neutral colors of these cuffs mixed with a little leopard print to give my arm candy that little bit of edginess!
Ps. If you’re wondering… yes, it was freezing!

Love your outfit especially that one photo with the fur wrapped around your neck! I just came across your site so not sure how your hair normally is but straight looks beautiful to me!

Awe, thank you! I like the fur too it adds a little texture and is so cozy for the frigid temperatures! Typically I wear my hair wavy but like I said I am trying to wear it straight more now!

I’m so excited to see Carter’s Christmas gift on your wrist! ???? I too love the straight hair, it’s a nice change for you.
Holly
Hi Jenn!! Yes, since writing this post I now know where they are from… I tried to ask Carter where they were from so I could link them in this post but he couldn’t remember, hehe… such a sweetie! Thanks again for the bracelets they are perfect, I love the neutral color with a little fun with the leopard print! And, the straight hair, thanks for the compliment… I usually just do it straight when I am lazy but thank you!!
