July Must-Haves
JULY!! Probably one of my favorite months for several reasons: summer vacation… I’m not going to lie two months off is pretty sweet, well-deserved if you ask me, but pretty friggin’ sweet. The weather is gorgeous, I have copious amounts of time to hang out with my friends, lay in the sun, go to the beach, bake, cook, blog, and really just do whatever I feel like!
Okay enough blabbing let me get to it. Here is the monthly round up… sorry it’s a few days late my Canada Day post stole the show on the first.
SkinCeuticals – It’s no surprise to any of us that the sun is super harmful to our skin. This sunscreen, although on the pricy side, is worth every penny. It has a sheer, universal tint that is adaptable to all skin tones and boosts radiance for a more even, luminous complexion. It is water resistant for 40 minutes, is paraben-free and non-comedogenic. Buy this and thank me when you’re 50 and still looking fabulous!
TRESemme Fresh Start Dry Shampoo – My girlfriend just introduced me to this little beauty of a product about a week ago and I cannot get enough of it! It’s a whooping $4.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart and is by far the best dry shampoo I have ever tried…
Heart Ring – You may have noticed this cute little ring in some of my previous photos. I purchased this ring at a local store about a year ago and just recently lost it, I was so sad… I loved it- it went with everything and was just so dang cute! Like magic, I was perusing Jillian Harris’ blog and noticed she included it in one of her posts… and it’s on sale for $8.00! Meant to be if you ask me. CHA CHING!
3DHD Kabuki & Precision Brushes – I talked about these brushes in a previous post and knew immediately they would make my must have list. I had never used a Kabuki style brush for my foundation application before and I was a little leery when first trying it but I am totally hooked. I have used some of Sigma’s other foundation brushes and this blows the rest out of the water. If you want more info on them check out this post! Ps. use TEACHME10 and receive 10% off your purchase, you’re welcome!
Brush Cleaning Mat – If you have a nice set of brushes in your make-up kit it’s super important to take care of them! Brushes can be pricy but if they’re taken care of they will last for years. Also, keeping your brushes clean helps keep you from breaking out- just think of all the bacteria, oils, and dirt those things can absorb… yuck!! As important as it is it doesn’t make it less annoying. It’s time consuming and I always struggle with when to do it… Sunday evenings have seem to work for me. Anyways, Sigma has come up with a few gadgets to make the process a little more bearable. I have the Express Cleaning Glove and I like it but I have quite the collection of brushes so I’m thinking of upgrading to the cleaning mat. It has suction cups on the bottom and you stick it to your sink and just go to town! Anyone have this?! Let me know your thoughts on it! If you decide to try these cleaning gadgets don’t forget to use TEACHME10 to get 10% off!
One Teaspoon Bandits – Jean shorts, jorts, whatever you choose to call them, are a staple in any summer wardrobe. These one teaspoon bandits are my favorite, I love the cut and color (mine are from last year sorry I couldn’t find the exact link). I suggest investing in a pair you love-if you’re anything like me you will basically live in them this month. See how I style mine here! If you’re not wanting to blow your wad on these, check out American Eagle they have lots to choose from and often have them on for buy one get one 50% off!
Hat- Not only will this protect you from the sun it also saves you from having to do your hair! I love curling my hair but in the summer I’m all about braids, hats, and basically anything that takes zero time and still looks cute.
Caudalie Beauty Elixir – A little sprites of this and you instantly feel refreshed. I started using this part toner, part serum mist about a month ago and I have noticed my pores are smaller, my skin is more radiant, and the overall appearance of my skin is smoother. The essential oils in it makes it smell great and leaves your skin feeling fresh and soothed. If you have sensitive skin like me, start by trying the sample size you find in the line up before the till… I call this the entrapment isle. I literally have never made it through without purchasing something!!! Anyways, it’s nice to try it before you spend your money on a full size bottle.
BKR Water Bottle – Okay, maybe it’s not a must have. But here’s how I justify it. We all know it’s like uber important to drink lots of water… it helps you in literally one million ways. I swear I drink so much more if it’s from a cute bottle, that sounds weird but I swear you know what I’m talking about. These bottles are glass with a silicone cover and are basically the most adorable things I have ever seen. Ps. lately I have been adding fresh fruit to my water and it is sooo refreshing -watermelon and mint is my favorite!
There you have it! My latest obsessions… what are you currently swooning over?!
xoxo
