OVERHOLL #Blinds
I am going to be honest with you, blinds were not really on my radar when I first made a plan for Over Holl. It’s not that I don’t like blinds- I mean trust me, I know the importance of them… #peepingtoms but I didn’t understand just how beautiful they could be. Looking back, I was SO wrong. Doing a reno without adding blinds is almost like doing your makeup without putting on mascara. You add foundation, blush, eye shadow, and of COURSE you add mascara, it’s like the finishing touch!
And if you’re anything like me, Erica Honoway is the girl for you! She opened my eyes to the world of blinds and I tell you I am never going back. She has the best selection, and is SO passionate about blinds. Every style to meet your every need (and budget) this woman has it all. Manual or motorized, blinds that go up and down with the sun, roman shades, roller shades, blackouts, venetian… the possibilities with these Hunter Douglas blinds are endless! You name it, she has you covered… literally, see what I did there?!
I decided to go with a Applause Honeycomb shade in the kitchen. I wanted it to be simple, elegant, but also cost effective. Since we splurged on the motorized blinds in the kitchen and bedroom I felt like I didn’t need to go all out for the kitchen. Erica was great and suggested the blind pictured above. They are perfect! The shade let’s in the most beautiful muted sunlight but also provides the privacy I wanted for my late night no snack snacking party.
The blinds in the living room are absolutely STUNNING. The window is huge and these blinds offer privacy but also let in the most stunning light. These blinds are set to come up and down with the sun- all done through my app… how freaking cool!
We have the same blinds in our bedroom as we do in the living room but we also added in a blackout shade. Wow- let me tell you, if you haven’t had blackout blinds in your room you ain’t livin’!! They are SO good… I also hear they are a good in a baby nursery, maybe one day I will be able to test that theory!!
Thank you so much, Erica for sharing your passion and knowledge of blinds with me! I cannot recommend her enough! If you have any questions or just need a little design/blind inspo give her a follow on IG at @ericahonowaayinteriors
