How To: Dutch / Inverted Braid Tutorial

After my Sigma brush review video I had some questions/requests regarding my braid in the video (thanks!) Instead of trying to explain it in writing I thought I would just make another video…

Here it is.. super quick and easy! Very versatile as well. Often I will braid both sides, throw it in a low bun, or just leave the side braid out. Play around and see what looks best that day!

I’ve been trying for so long to do a French braid and have yet to successfully make one!!! I would love to pull a look like this…! I guess I need to practice some more..!

I know the feeling! I definitely did not get this on the first time… it took some time for me to get the hang of it but now it’s super quick and easy! My suggestion is to just practice it in your free time (I know it’s hard to find free time) maybe even before bed! You will get better I promise! Oh, and don’t get frustrated if it doesn’t look great at the beginning of the braid, just keep going and then pull it out to loosen it, I like it really messy!

Omgosh! Braids have always been pure wizardry to me and watching you do that was pure Hogwarts amazingness. I like how nice and neat this look is (and also beautifully enhanced by your pretty highlights). Another awesome video tutorial. Keep ‘me coming, girl!

Rachel, you will get it in no time! Just keep practicing and don’t get frustrated if it doesn’t look ‘right’ at the start (of the braid) that was my biggest mistake. Just keep going and it will look great- don’t forget to pull it out, I love the messy look!
