Who Inspires Me?

There is no hiding the fact that there is no shortage when it comes to bloggers, especially women who blog about fashion. To the point where many are annoyed, “oh, right another fashion blogger” are words often thrown around.

Personally, I feel the more the merrier!! I follow so many bloggers and I’m always discovering new ladies (and sometimes men) that I enjoy seeing on my newsfeed. Each one of them bring me some kind of inspiration. Maybe it’s a new recipe I want to try, a trend I am loving but I’m still not exactly sure how to put it together and make it my own, a coffee table to complete my living space, or an adorable dog that will remind me to book Sunny’s next hair appointment!

If you’ve been an OG Teach Me Style reader, it would be no shock to you that Jillian Harris is a huge inspiration for me! I adore her and I genuinely trust in what she is doing. She gives honest reviews and I’ve never been disappointed ordering anything she’s recommended- for example: these overalls. They are from Forever 21. I have nothing against Forever 21, but I have never been overly happy with their denim, but I decided to trust Jillian and give them a go (against my gut feeling). OMG! Am I ever happy I did! I cannot tell you how happy I am with them!! The fit? Perfect! The wash? Even more perfect! They are the perfect not too dumpy, but not too sexy pair… if you follow my Instagram stories you will notice I have been LIVING in them on the weekends, I am OBSESSED!!!!

I’m not going to lie, I ordered the exact outfit she was wearing, LOL. I ordered the striped long sleeved body suit, and these overalls. I adore the outfit- but I must say this look shown below is a little more me! I adore anything blush, I am a huge crop top fan and I cannot get enough of sneakers lately, so I incorporated these elements into this look. And that is exactly what we bloggers are trying to do! Feed you with inspiration and the knowledge so you can experiment with new trends but also go out and make a style your own!

Vintage Denim Shorts

I have to start by saying these shorts are probably my favourite piece of clothing that I’ve ever put on Teach Me Style. Wow, k that is a bold statement but it’s true. It would be an understatement to say I love these… I adore them! Perhaps it’s the fact that I have been wanting a pair of vintage Levi shorts for YEARS and never had any luck. They were either too big, too small, or the wash wasn’t great. But, a few days ago I noticed The Dress Form post these on their Instagram and I was lucky enough to get my hands on them… Best. Day. Ever.

The HOT SAUCE IN MY BAG… SWAG wasn’t originally on them but I had Stacey, the beautiful owner of The Dress Form, embroider it on.. I can’t take credit for this idea I had seen it on a pair she sold previously and decided I needed it. Don’t even ask how disappointed I am to not have these for her concert a few months ago!! The coolest part is you can literally get anything you want embroidered on them. This girl is seriously so talented and is just the sweetest! Check out her etsy store… be prepared though, you will find one million things you obviously need.

Also, I am starting to realize I am addicted to sneakers. I have seen these Adidas sneakers around everywhere, but I must admit, it was Shea from the blog Peace Love Shea, who turned my want into a need.

ZARA Wool Coat

This light grey wool jacket is my everything right now!!! I have worn it easily 4 times since purchasing it last week, and without fail each time I wore it somebody would stop and ask me where it was from. Well, the secret’s out… it is from Zara!

Although it’s wool, it is fairly light weight, so it definitely won’t stand up to the cold weather we often have in January. However, this past week has been beautiful, so I have been taking advantage of it and wearing it non stop! I love pairing it with these All Saints booties for work or an evening out, but also with sneakers for a more casual weekend look. This coat will also carry me through the spring when it’s that weird, “not too warm but not too cold”, weather that is difficult to dress for.

The long sleeve is an oldie from Aritzia and the jeans are also ancient… I swear they’re at least 8 year old. I DIY’d the rips in the knees and cut the bottoms off to give them that little extra grunge look. I’m not going to lie, I impressed myself!
