Who Inspires Me?

There is no hiding the fact that there is no shortage when it comes to bloggers, especially women who blog about fashion. To the point where many are annoyed, “oh, right another fashion blogger” are words often thrown around.

Personally, I feel the more the merrier!! I follow so many bloggers and I’m always discovering new ladies (and sometimes men) that I enjoy seeing on my newsfeed. Each one of them bring me some kind of inspiration. Maybe it’s a new recipe I want to try, a trend I am loving but I’m still not exactly sure how to put it together and make it my own, a coffee table to complete my living space, or an adorable dog that will remind me to book Sunny’s next hair appointment!

If you’ve been an OG Teach Me Style reader, it would be no shock to you that Jillian Harris is a huge inspiration for me! I adore her and I genuinely trust in what she is doing. She gives honest reviews and I’ve never been disappointed ordering anything she’s recommended- for example: these overalls. They are from Forever 21. I have nothing against Forever 21, but I have never been overly happy with their denim, but I decided to trust Jillian and give them a go (against my gut feeling). OMG! Am I ever happy I did! I cannot tell you how happy I am with them!! The fit? Perfect! The wash? Even more perfect! They are the perfect not too dumpy, but not too sexy pair… if you follow my Instagram stories you will notice I have been LIVING in them on the weekends, I am OBSESSED!!!!

I’m not going to lie, I ordered the exact outfit she was wearing, LOL. I ordered the striped long sleeved body suit, and these overalls. I adore the outfit- but I must say this look shown below is a little more me! I adore anything blush, I am a huge crop top fan and I cannot get enough of sneakers lately, so I incorporated these elements into this look. And that is exactly what we bloggers are trying to do! Feed you with inspiration and the knowledge so you can experiment with new trends but also go out and make a style your own!

JH for Priv Leopard Love

Those of you who have been reading TMS for a while, follow me on any social accounts, or know me personally, would know that I LOVE Jillian Harris. She’s a go getter, has spunk, loves Hawaii (clearly we’re soul sisters) is beautiful, Canadian, loves dogs, and is REAL. She shares what she’s passionate about, and although she gets hated on for it at times {#veganish}… relax people!!!!! that’s what I love most about her. Although I’m sure it gets her down she just keeps on truckin’. She has been an inspiration to me for years, so when the JH for Priv team reached out to me to help share a few of her pieces, I squealed with excitement!

Choosing just one piece from the line took hours of me flipping from one open tab to the next. I mean clearly I want those jammies, and the chunky knit heart sweater would be PERFECT for Valentine’s Day with my first graders… anyways, I have been wanting a leopard coat for quite some time now so I decided I would get that!

I will admit, as I waited for the package I had it in my head that it was a thick furry (vegan obvi) material. It is not- it’s a lot thinner than I expected, but I actually think I like it more than if it were to be thick. I have quite a few thick winter coats and I am loving that I can take this one into the fall and wear it on warmer winter days!

I decided to style this a little different than I originally thought I would. Instead of a dressier look, which would be awesome as well, I decided to kick it casual for a bit more of an unexpected daytime look- what do you guys think?!

Ps. if it looks like I’m freezing… I was! It was -40 this day #bloglife

Last, if you do decide to order this coat, I would suggest ordering down a size I found it fits on the big side.

#JHFORPRIV Dress

Well, my all time favourite blogger Jillian Harris has teamed up once again with the ladies from Privilege for their fourth collection! And, when your favourite blogger of all time launches her line and you’re teaching, you cross everything that can be crossed and hope it doesn’t sell out before you can get to your computer at recess time to order!!!

I’m not sure if it was the online shopping God’s that were with me or Jillian and the Priv team learned from previous years that they need to order more… either way, I was pretty stoked to get my hands on this Day To Night floral dress…HOLY GUACAMOLE! Never have I ever had a more flirty, sassy, versatile, comfortable, pretty dress! A sexy little number for a GNO showing a whole lot of skin, or paired with some Birkenstocks for a quick grocery run, this dress can truly do it all… let me show you!
