Eyelet Party Skirt

I’m currently sitting in the Portland airport feeling sad that my time here is already over- I’m not sure what I will miss the most! The amazing food, the people, the weather, the shopping, or our cute little Airbnb home? Ah… if you can’t tell Portland has been absolutely amazing. I will be sure to post a Portland must- do list… and maybe even a vlog (hint hint) when I’m home! But, as sad as I am to leave Portland I am SO excited to be off to Vancouver where I will be meeting up with my mom, sister, and our family friends!

I wasn’t planning on packing this skirt simply because it’s quite dressy but I decided to throw it in last minute and I’m SO happy I did! I made it a little more casual by throwing on this leather jacket. If you haven’t noticed I have been wearing it non-stop, but hey I’m travelling and I needed to keep some real estate open in my suitcase for shopping…

PS. Can we talk about how this skirt matches our Airbnb home?! I mean seriously… SO cute!

Ps. This skirt is such a great addition to your closet. Perfect for nearly any occasion whether you’re a bride to be or simply going out for a nice dinner on vacation. Also, it’s under $25… you’re welcome.

Country Love

You can take the girl off the farm but you can’t take the farm out of the girl… well that’s the saying anyhow. For those that don’t know I grew up on a farm. My dad is quite a successful grain farmer- the only animals we had on our farm where our dogs and horses! Yes, I’m bragging…he has worked his tail off to get where he is today, and I’m damn proud of him!!

With that being said, I’m probably the least farm(ish) girl I know… my parents still to this day refer to me as their indoor girl. I was, and still am, terrified of the snakes, so my outside time was short lived and was very strategic! I would never go on the north lawn, that was snake territory. I would do my mandatory chores and feed/ ride my horses until I grew out of that phase, then I would head back inside to help with indoor projects like cooking and baking! I do however, love going for rides in the combine. And no, it is not how you picture it. There is no plaid blanket laid out on the ground with a picnic basket and cold beer, haha. There’s no time to stop when you’re racing the snowflakes… hop in quick, crack a beer and hope everything goes well!

BUT, there is one part of me that is all country and that is the music I listen to! I like all music, but I LOVE country!! So, when Garth Brooks announced he was coming it was a serious no brainer! The concert is this Friday and I am SO excited!! Brandon on the other hand, is just busy trying to learn the lyrics to at least one of the songs, he is NOT a country fan but is a great sport and is coming with me. I’m hoping I can get him in a cowboy hat and boots, is that too much to ask? Stay tuned…

I have come up with two outfit options for the concert… Here is my first one. It is a little “I’m going out to feed the chickens(ish)” but I swear I kinda like it!

What I Wore: Sask Fashion Week (Night 3)

Well, I made it!! I can’t imagine how the volunteers and directors of the event are feeling… I was just a spectator and I am exhausted! Hats off to everyone involved in Saskatchewan Fashion Week, it truly is one of my favourite events to attend, well done!

Like I said, I’m pretty tired and our home looks like something out of a horror film, so I’m going to keep this short and sweet!

What I Wore:

For the last night I originally had picked out a crop top and culottes but last minute I decided to wear this Parker New York jumpsuit (currently on sale!!) simply because I wanted to be comfortable. It was easy but also gave me that glam feeling I was wanting. I styled it with these Steve Madden pumps I grabbed from Cade the other day (super comfortable and will be perfect for work) and Fifth Avenue jewellery… for a last minute look I was pretty impressed!
