Layering Dresses

I will be the first to admit I am really behind with this trend. Bloggers and the general public have been wearing shirts under their dresses for months now. This is a trend that really took me a bit to like, upon first seeing it I really wasn’t that crazy about it.

This actually happens quite often. Generally speaking, people aren’t always on board with new things or change right away. For example: the new model of a car, the iPhone update, the Facebook layout, etc are all things that typically take people a while to come around to.

I decided that I would start dipping my toes in the water with this trend by wearing a t-shirt under a basic black tank. After wearing that a few times I eventually decided it was time to try this whole shirt under the dress “Cher” inspired trend, and I actually really like it! The best part about this look is these are all old items I’ve had in my closet for months, but by pairing them together, they make a completely different look! Typically I would wear this LBD with some layered necklaces, heels, and a leather jacket. As you can see the sneakers and t shirt layered underneath have totally transformed this into a super casual, yet cute outfit!

Denim Overalls

I have been on the hunt for a cute pair of overalls (shorts or full length jeans) since Jillian Harris posted about them last summer! Let me tell you, they aren’t as easy to find as I thought they would be. JH got hers from Topshop and although they are super cute, I just wasn’t crazy about spending nearly $100 after shipping. I mean, I know it’s denim and they’re super cute, but I consider this a fun trend and when it comes to fun trends I don’t like spending a lot.

There were a few things I had in mind as I was searching. I wanted a light(er) wash, a boyfriend(ish) fit, I didn’t want them to be too short, and I wanted to spend no more than $50! Well, coming in at $49.90, these just barely made the cut!

When it comes to styling overalls I feel like anything goes. Since purchasing these a week ago I have paired them with a graphic tee, a plaid shirt, a crop top, and this girly lace blouse! I am totally loving this trend… It totally takes me back to grade school, so fun!!

*FYI: If you do decided you want to order these overalls I suggest going up a size! I typically wear a small and I got the medium!

Coachella Inspired Choker Necklace DIY

So… if you haven’t noticed Coachella has arrived!! I don’t know about you, but between the excessive amounts of Instagram posts and snaps (how amazing is the flower crown filter?!) I had a pretty big case of FOMO this weekend. I figure this is the perfect time to share my little DIY for this adorable Coachella inspired choker!

This is just the beginning of a huge trend so before you go out and spend your hard earned money on an over-priced one, take a look around your local craft store and make one yourself! I made four for under $25.00!

If you’re lucky enough to be going to Coachella next weekend I am SO jealous!! For the rest of us who aren’t so lucky, let’s rock some fringe, chokers, and the flower crown app and pretend we are… mmmmk?!
