Vancouver Recap & Vlog

After a whirlwind west coast vacation we are home! Like always, being on vacation is the best but it does feel oh so good to slip into my own bed, cuddle with my boy Sunny, and cook in our kitchen!

As mentioned in my previous post we… well, Brandon mostly has helped create a travel diary for you all with the hopes that it will inspire you to visit Vancouver! (and Portland, we have created one for that city as well!)  I’m sure you have heard it before but Vancouver is such an amazing city- just watch the video… you will see what I mean! OH and how could I forget?! The Seawheeze was frickin’ awesome!!! I am officially addicted and can’t wait to run again next year 🙂 The atmosphere was incredible and I must say running it was not nearly as hard as I thought it was going to be. It is crazy how much your adrenaline and the positive energy around you helps to motivate you!  If you’ve been thinking about trying a half marathon for a while I would highly suggest the Seawheeze as a fun starter one.

Because the video doesn’t name all the places we visited, I have created a small list of must-do’s while in YVR!

Places to eat: I won’t go into great detail because well they were just all amazing and that’s all you really need to know!

Cactus Club – don’t worry there is one on every corner so you won’t have any trouble.  Yummy drinks and awesome food, also the one on the Harbour has an amazing view!

Dynasty Seafood Restaurant (Chinese)

Tuscany Pizza on Bowen Island (Italian)

The Flying Pig

Santouka (Japanese Ramen)

Pacifica Pizza

Rain or Shine Ice Cream

Tangram Creamery -this place has amazing ice cream but the cones are what sets them apart.  They are made out of fortune cookie batter… omg need I say more?!! SOO delicious!

What to do:

Shop! Robson street, Kitsilano, Burrard Street, Yaletown and Gastown are all great little neighbourhoods where you will find beautiful boutiques and a few patios for when you need a little refuel if you know what I mean 😉

Go on the water! We were spoiled and spent the day on our friend’s yacht but a paddle board, kayak, or canoe would be fun too! It’s just so awesome to see the city skyline from the water, oh and it makes for a great photo op!

Eat… haha if you can’t tell, B and I absolutely love food and our days basically revolve around where we want to eat!

Get lost in a new neighbourhood! The last night we stayed at a friend’s house. I decided to wake up early before our flight home and go for a run mainly because I went to town on Chinese food and ice cream the night before, but also because the neighborhood was beautiful!  It was so fun to get lost in a new part of town finding running trails, drooling over the gorgeous real estate, and literally stopping to smell the most amazing flowers, ah you gotta love that B.C growing season… lucky!

Where to stay:

We stayed at The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver and loved it!  The location is very central so you’re pretty much walking distance to everything and if you do want to head somewhere further, their bell men are extremely helpful and will gladly hail you a cab!  There are also tonnes of designer shops that had me drooling.  Oh and for those that follow me on Snapchat and were wondering if I made those Dior sunnies mine, I didn’t 🙁 Perhaps next time!

Have you been to Vancouver? Do you love it as much as I do?
