The Perfect Crop Top

Crop tops can seriously be the best/ easiest thing to wear.  They go with anything from the girliest skirt to a pair of ripped denim.  Here are some tips to follow when looking to purchase a good crop:

Fit:  Like anything, the fit is everything.  Finding one that is not too short, too long, isn’t too tight, too loose and doesn’t pull awkwardly can be quite tough… but when you find one, you’ll know, so buy it in multiple colors.

Style: I prefer a tight fighting crop as I find them the easiest to style. As mentioned before, they transition easily from ripped denim to looking chic with a nice pencil skirt. Although, don’t discredit those flowy & feminine ones either. They are great as well just can be a bit harder to style. I guess when it comes to choosing a style, keep the following in mind: your body type -what is the most flattering from all angles? Make sure to check the back!  How many ways can you style this? When I am debating a purchase I try to think of at least three outfits before I purchase, and if you’re only buying in one color stick to black. It goes with everything and transitions flawlessly from season to season allowing you to get the most wear out of it.

Details: A great crop with just the perfect amount of detail is actually quite hard to find so luckily I have done the research for you. Sage Wosminity, a local designer, only 17 years old grabbed my attention at Sask Fashion Week two years ago. Her collection was fun and flirty but still had that sophistication older audiences gravitate towards.  Pretty outstanding young women with more drive, dedication, and ambition that many adults I know.  I hardly know this girl and my heart bursts with pride every time I see her work.  I have gotten to know her a little more over the last few months and I am antsy to see her next move- girls got talent.  Her attention to detail is undeniable and will take her places if she continues to hustle.

I originally grabbed this black crop top right off the model as Sask Fashion Week… okay not literally, but basically. Sage had a trunk show following the set and I literally ran to grab it as I knew they would go fast. I have since worn it easily 30 times. It even made it’s way through Europe with me.  I backpacked and only took items I knew I could wear over and over and over…

Since purchasing my crop in 2014 Sage has done a slight redesign and added some great new colors. I personally am obsessed with the white one which isn’t surprising… the white section in my closet is growing by the day.

Grab your own by contacting Sage here! Also, don’t forget to follow her on instagram to keep up to date with the up and coming designer.
